Deed of manumission dated May 28, 1860 by John Holland of Howard County, Maryland for his female Negro slave named Alcinda. Witnessed by John G. Dorsey, James L. Dorsey, and Justice of the Peace Samuel Nichols on May 28 and recorded by Howard County clerk W. W. Watkins on May 29, the document identifies Alcinda as age about 15 years and sets her free on May 28, 1880 or at Holland's death, whichever comes first.
