Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party
Description
This folder is fairly evenly divided between three areas of focus: the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party's original 1964 election campaign; the "Congressional Challenge" which followed; and the political campaigns the party continued to pursue in the year 1966. The "Minutes of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party State Executive Committee Meeting" provides insight into the MFDP's political strategy during the year 1966, and comprises the longest document contained within this relatively small folder.
