Paul Methodist church at {Augusta, Ky., has become the first Negro chaplain at the WAAC training center at Fort Des Moines He will be spiritual adviser for the Negro WAACs here. Chaplain Briggs, a native of Franklin county, Mississippi, was graduated from Clark university LIEDT. BRIGGS. and G a m m 0 „ Theological seminary at Atlanta, Ga. He had postgraduate work at Garrett Theological seminary, Ev-ansville, 111., before holding a series of pastorates which included Sharpeburg, Ky., Troy, Ohio, New Castle, Ind.. Evanston, 111., and Marietta, Ohio. Chaplain Briggs had been pastor in Augusta, Ky., for ,two years before entering army service last April.
