Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Folder contains copies of original manuscripts.Theodore Parker writes to William Rounseville Alger on July 1 1857 in regards to reading news of what the "aldermen have done." He writes that the harvest men give him thanks for his speech and the other addresses he's heard from others. He discusses his thoughts on the "defective church" and the "despotic State of the Slaveholders." Lydia Dodge Cabot Parker writes to William Rounseville Alger on June 9, 1862 in regards to apologizing for not returning her husbands letters to him and thanks him for copying his papers and complying with her request. She writes, "Theodore always enjoyed your scholarly sympathies, & his great affectionate heart has always warmed by your kindly presence. Hoping you will occasionally look in upon me for his dear sake."
