Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Manuscript annotated on recto, with "To W.L. Garrison" in black ink on top-left margin of page, and "86" in pencil above Parker's salutation to Garrison.Accompanying envelope annotated on recto, with the following in pencil: "Mrs. Lydia D. Parker July 19, 1861 (?) Presenting Theo. Parker's velvet cap to W. L. G."Lydia Parker sends to William Lloyd Garrison a photograph of her late husband, Theodore Parker, along with his "velvet cap", which she states she believed Garrison would favor despite the "sad memories" that will undoubtedly accompany it.
