Description
Holograph, signed.William Henry Furness is grateful for the book William Lloyd Garrison sent and especially for the autograph. Furness gives his opinion of Kossuth, with examples and explaining his reasons. Furness asks Garrison not to publish this letter, explaining that it is private correspondence meant only for Garrison's ear. But in the postscript, Furness writes: "I have asked you not to print this, that is, I would not have you print it merely upon your principle of mere letting both sides be heard. Should you think it to be true & sound, then I leave it with your discretion."
