Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Richard Davis Webb writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to publishing Garrison's speech at the Platform of the American anti-slavery society recently delivered at he New England convention. He speaks well of Mr. Furness and says "he is a real abolitionist & has the spirit of one." He will keep supplying copies of the Advocate. He writes of Mr. Bishop's letter to Mr. Bright and his desire to place it in the Advocate. He criticises the Leeds Committee for wanting to hear both sides of the antislavery question. He hopes they don't overload the "Brief View" with information on the "Leeds Society-the Library-and the like. Better let it be published as much as possible by itself." He greatly likes the idea of a Leeds anti-slavery society library. W. Armistead sent him a catalogue. He writes that he is still hosting Deborah's friend "the Silent Girl from Halifax." A second letter written by Richard Davis Webb to unknown, writes of working on the "Brief View" and hopes to be able to send the addressee an interview.
