HartonRIVERS: Ohio River; Arkansas RiverOTHER INFORMATION: Ways - 3478; The Linden originally ran Pittsburgh-Cincinnati. By January, 1862 she was taking U.S. Army wagons, etc. from Cincinnati to Louisville. November, 1862 she was sold to the U.S. Navy and became U.S. tinclad #10 in 1863. On February 22, 1864 she was snagged and lost at Carson Towhead on the Arkansas RiverPHOTO DESCRIPTION: Gunboat Cincinnati is in the front with the Linden (tinclad #10) behind. (These boats brought on the Battle of Fort Pillow)
