Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Marius R. Robinson writes to Samuel May reporting that the Executive Committee of the Western Anti-Slavery Society promises "their cordial & active cooperation" with agents of the American Anti-Slavery Society. He says that his society wishes to "extend over new territory the knowledge & influence of radical Anti-Slavery" but he cannot make definite suggestions about a "course of labor" for May's lecturers. Robinson thinks that Parker Pillsbury has a "thorough knowledge of the people & the country" and could be helpful devising a plan. He then suggests that Stephen S. Foster, Abby Kelley Foster, and Pillsbury could come in time for their anniversary meeting and after lecturing in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. After the anniversary meeting, they could then lecture in Indiana and Michigan. Robinson states that this will get the people "prepared for some large central conventions, to be held subsequently, when Messrs. Garrison & Phillips shall come out, as we are most happy to learn they hope to do."
