The 1978-79 Dode County Extension Service Annual report contains two documents: the Annual Progress Report and the Safety Educational Activity Report. The Progress report contains: Extension Committee and Staff; Agricultural and Related Industries, Home Improvement Family Living Program, 4-H Youth Development, Resource Development and Public Affairs, Administrative Supervision and Staff Support. Components include: Farm Business Management, Soil and Energy Conservation, Water and Sewage Disposal, Corn Management, Soybean Management, Forage Production, Home Horticulture, Food and Nutrition, Consumer Affairs, Clothing and Textile, Interior Design and Equipment, Housing, Individual and Family Development, Human Health, Cultural Understanding, Expressive Arts and Crafts, 4-H Leadership, Forestry and Wildlife, Community Study and Planning, Extension Administration, Staff Development, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action. Items of interest include: First solar collector for space hat in dairy barn; Roundup introduced; Oat crop failure; Sewage in road ditches; pipeline controversy; $60,000 spent at Fairgrounds for new livestock Judging Arena and Horse Barn renovation; 4-H District Council and Aerospace project introduced.
