Description
A photograph of South Harpeth Church of Christ located at 8727 Old Harding Road in Nashville, Tennessee. Said to be the oldest Church of Christ in Davidson County, the South Harpeth congregation first organized in 1812. The original building was constructed by slave labor in 1845. The current building incorporates the original structure. The foundation is concrete block and stone on the original parts. The exterior walls are brick. The roof is gabled with tar shingles. The windows are shuttered with an oculus over the front door. The doors are wood. Special features include a pyramidal steeple and a brick chimney. Four columns support a pediment at the front entry.
