Description
A photograph of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church located at 1700 Heiman Street in Nashville, Tennessee. The building was erected in 1932 and founded as a mission and a school. The school was one of two Catholic institutions opened by Sister Katherine Drexel for African Americans in Nashville. The school was staffed with Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. In 1940 St. Vincent became a parish. The foundation is header bond brick. The exterior walls are brick. The roof is gabled. The windows are a combination of arched and rectangular.
