Description

Concerning the failure of the Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill to pass. Abbott suggests because political avenues for attaining rights failed, African Americans should use economic avenues to protest. The letter urges movement leaders to encourage African Americans to leave the south and move west or north in protest. He also suggests that organizations such as the N. A. A. C. P., Y. W. C. A., and the Urban League assist in this migration and adjustment. Lastly he suggests voters in the north to vote based on issues, rather than party affiliation. Written on the letterhead of The Chicago Defender.
