A holder of elementary and secondary school credentials, he also has finished the academic requirements for the doctor of education degree at the University of California. He is executive chairman of the committee Crisis in Our Schools, president of the Los Angeles Pan Hellenic Council, and a former executive board member and education chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People."
