The Gainesville Eagles baseball team, photographed in 1949, included, from left to right, seated in the first row, Hubert Brooks, T.Davis, Jeff Johnson, two unknown persons, Lamb Sheperd, and Benny Rucker. In the second row were William Johnson, Booth Rucker, Ollie Williams, Billy Clyde, and Cal Hart. In the third row were Herman Johnson, Clyde Riley, Dude Mack, George Banks, Edward Johnson, and Lovie C. Smith. In the fourth row were Ralph Slaughter, William Johnson, Newt Randolph, Charles Mitchell, Roger Wilmont and Booth Roper.
