Description
This volume of journal entries written by Lawrence Taliaferro covers the years 1830-1831 and records the Indian Agent's interactions with the Dakota and Ojibwe leaders and fur traders of the area, as well as business and visitors related to nearby Fort Snelling. The entries of April 2 and April 3, 1831 make references to a "Negro servant girl" belonging to Mr. Langham and her punishment in reference to the events of February 24, 1831 (when Langham's house caught on fire) and March 30, 1831 (when Langham's daughter was murdered).
