Oral History interview with Tom Coyne conducted by Alan Brown on May 24, 1989. Tom Coyne was a student and track and field athlete at WMU in the 50s. Later, he joined the faculty as Vice President Emeritus for Student Services. Tom Coyne recalls his childhood, early education, growing up through the Depression, working as a caddy at the Midlothian Country Club, early participation in sports, and being recruited by Bill Perrigo to WMU. He also describes the campus in the 50s, GIs returning to campus, teammates, and track meets. He compares the teaching styles of influential professors and coaches. He joined the faculty in 1970.
