Unity, love, respect, pride, Manual Arts High School, Los Angeles, 1992. Exterior near student store, untitled, 4131 South Vermont Avenue (between 40th Place and 42nd Street). The theme is redemption from negative societal influences (drugs, gangs, violence) through learning the history of the Latino and African American cultures that make up the community. Designed by Elliott Pinkney from students drawings, executed with the after-school mural club under the supervision of teacher Joshua Pechthalt.
