Fragments of a gospel invitational performance in Greenville, South Carolina, that, according to screen credits, took place on April 3, 1988, and was presumably recorded for the television program Parade of Quartets. The recording includes appearances by the following African American gospel groups: Sammy Miller and the Gospel Continentals--Lloyd Cannady and the Flying Clouds--Curtis Young and the Singing Songs--Willie Banks and the Messengers--Swanee Quintet--Big Dan the Gospel man--Slim and the Supreme Angels--Tommy Ellison and the Five Singing Stars. Parade of Quartets is a television program that has aired on WJBF-TV in Augusta, Georgia, from 1954 to the present, featuring African American gospel music, and appearances by both local and national African American political leaders.
