Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Sarah Pugh writes to Richard Davis Webb about her "late N.E. experiences", "attending anniversaries" and visiting with "the Garrisons, Chapmans, Westons, Mays," and others. Pugh then shares news of their mutual friends in the United States and discusses Quakerism, remarking that "the present generation gives promise of better things". She also mentions the death of Mary Shackleton and remembers her visits with her in Ireland to "places where had breathed Edmund Bruke & Job Scott & Mary Leadbeater". Pugh discusses the illnesses of her cousin Abby Kimber and also Lucretia Mott before beginning a new letter on the fifth page addressed to "Dear Richard." Here she says Webb's "serene daughter," Deborah, "is most pleasantly with us" and discusses the death of G[ertrude K[imber] Burleigh.
