Hatfield, R. M
Description
A reverend visits Utah and attempts to provide an accurate view of Mormonism. Despite reports of wealth, most Mormons are poor. The people, especially women, are intellectually inferior to the average American. There are no schools in Utah Territory, and the people are oppressed under the despotic authority of Brigham Young. Women are humbled and crushed under polygamy. Polygamy will be difficult to destroy, and it will not end until the government enforces laws and punishes offenders.;
