Phelps, Alanson St. Clair explains some complications involving the plan for Phelps to work in the Bristol County, and asks him (Phelps) to retain the letter he planned to send out. After reassuring Phelps that he (St. Clair) will be able to secure more subscribers for, presumably, the Massachusetts Abolitionist, he discusses some difficulties with regard to the work to be done in Barnstable County. He discusses plans for the "new organization" and makes an argument for employing more agents
