Photograph of Charlotta Bass, left, and Ben Margolis at a publication party for Bass' book, "Forty Years: Memoirs from the Pages of a Newspaper." Margolis is holding a copy of the book. The party was held at the Alexandria Hotel in Los Angeles on Apr. 24, 1960. Margolis was a civil rights attorney whose clients included the defendants in the Sleepy Lagoon murder trial and the Hollywood Ten. Margolis also was Bass' attorney.
