Description
This work was part of "A Seat at the Table," which opened on June 12, 2019 at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.Artist: Marc Bushelle. Permission from the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.First African American woman to run for PresidentMarc Bushelle [Creator]Photographer Marc Bushelle's daughter, Lily, appears on video in "A Seat at the Table" delivering another one of Congresswoman Chisholm’s moving speeches. As a photographer, Marc was able to employ visual effects to mimic the muted tones of film from the 1960s. Hearing the power of the Congresswoman’s words come from the mouth of a child reminds us of Congresswoman Chisholm’s extraordinary work for families, education, and children.
