Congress of Racial Equality
Description
This folder contains an assortment of documents published by CORE detailing its tactics and ideologies. These publications fall into a couple different categories: those which run from 1942-1966 depict CORE as it functioned under the leadership of James Farmer; those that run from 1989-1996 portray CORE as it functioned under the leadership of Roy Innis. The organization's guiding ideology shifted fairly substantially over these two periods, and this collection provides ample evidence of that. The last half of the folder is made up of a number of pamphlets and booklets distributed by CORE throughout its lifetime - primarily from the era spanning 1942-66, but also a couple from the early 90s.
