Phelps, Gerrit Smith says he still believes that Garrison is ́an honest man,́ and asks Phelps to be ́patient with him.́ After mentioning some upcoming meetings and the uncertainty regarding whether he could attend them, Smith says he intends to write a review of Henry Claýs "pernicious" speech
