Phelps, Gerrit Smith requests the enclosed, which is his response to Garrisońs attack on him in the Liberator, be handed in at the Liberator office with a request of speedy publication. He expresses his opinion against the possibility of adding a new national organization, and argues for one united society. He discusses the subject of the ́National Conference Conventioń to be held at Saratoga Springs, and James G. Birney as a political candidate
