Photograph of an oxcart in the sand near a pier in Southern Maryland. In the cart is an African American man standing alongside a calf. The use of this type of equipment for farm labor continued longer in Southern Maryland than anywhere else in the state. It appears that the calf has been or will be transported over the water by boat.
