Fulbright, J. William

Description

-30- Each moves through an intricate ritual of evasions, of make-believe, and suppressions. In the South one finds a relationship among men without counterpart on this continent. The inability to comprehend the magnitude of this relationship has caused those in other sections to seek immediate and total solutions, which experience should teach us are quite unlikely of achievement. This brings me to a point which I believe is central to this debate. Separate education, we were told by the Brown Decision, is unequal education. It would be less than honest for me to maintain that absolute parity exists between white and Negro schools
