This old vaudeville house, built in the 1930s in Alpine, Texas, was purchased by Indian immigrant Avanish Rangra, a chemistry professor at Sul Ross State University locally, and his wife, Anju, in the 1970s. In 2002 their son, Amit, told a local newspaper, "We're not exactly a multiplex as much as a 'biplex'" movie theater.
