There is a lack of interest in the Cape in the antislavery cause, and it is necessary to invite a lecturer of celebrity to the area to arouse interest. Mentioning the County Society's plan to invite such a lecturer, Drew asks if Phelps could procure one. He gives new contact person at the Barnstable County Society, as he is no longer its president.
