Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Benjamin Drew writes to Amos A. Phelps that people of the Cape would not be able to aid Phelps to raise funds for the Massachusetts Abolitionist. There is a lack of interest in the Cape in the antislavery cause, and it is necessary to invite a lecturer of celebrity to the area to arouse interest. Mentioning the County Society's plan to invite such a lecturer, Drew asks if Phelps could procure one. He gives new contact person at the Barnstable County Society, as he is no longer its president.
