Mortimer J. Adler discusses his book, “We Hold These Truths.” He describes the importance of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments of the Constitution that abolished slavery and allowed all men to have citizenship and be able to vote. He talks about how the founding fathers were influenced by Athenian democracy under Pericles. He believes that the Constitution is still growing and will be changed more times in the future. Adler discusses whether the President should be elected based on popular vote, or by the electoral college.
