Safeguarding ....14 all too often to national suicide. The new day will never be found until a leadership different from that of the past has been provided. So youths of adventurous spirits and commanding ambition must be discovered, enlist- ed, trained and challenged to forget the profit motive and to be inspired to believe in and be governed by the little-tried philosophy of the Man of Galilee which is expressed in one sentence, "He that is great among you shall be your servant" (Matthew 25:11). Is there hope of escape from disaster? Is there shelter from the frightful powers which man is drawing from the heart of nature? The ques- tions are being asked on every hand and they demand an answer. One and only one answer makes sense. It is; "We go on to self-destruction unless there can be developed a leadership who are motivated by faith in God and by respect for the individual worth and e- ternal destiny of man. Such leaders, directed by wisdom and empowered with a suitable store of knowledge, can create a new social order in which the urges which inevitably bring conflicts are supplanted by the desire to render sacrificial service under the control of vicarious love. Let us have such architects and, although it will take time and labor, there will be developed a society in which the heart will be love, the circum- ference brotherhood, the life-blood righteousness, and the Director Gener- al the Eternal Spirit of Truth.
