Records collected by the Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission on the economic conditions of African Americans in Mississippi. The file contains reports by the commission to the state legislature, letters from the Canton Chamber of Commerce and Cleveland, Mississippi, about the African American economic situation in the communities, and several editorials and pamphlets about the work of the Sovereignty Commission and supporting Mississippi.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
