Garden Acosta explains that El Puente is about community driven schools (which include community driven charter schools) He critiques charter schools that are about creating a new system, like Eva Moskowitz has done with the Success Academy charter schools. He indicates that schools not focused on community control, like Success Academy, are not supportive of people who can not speak Englishnot supportive of young people with special needsand they are very selective of who they will and will not support.
