Description

Letter from President Andrew Jackson to William Donelson on the management of his farm. Jackson describes, in detail, the deaths of several of the people enslaved by him, including a woman named Aneca and a man named Jame, who died due to a beating at the hands of Jackson’s employee by the name of Mr. Hotzclaw. Jackson also alludes to multiple other, unfortunately unnamed, enslaved people that were also killed by people in Jackson’s employ.
