William Appling and Dr. Zelma George greet the audience after a concert at the Cleveland Job Corps Center for Women. Appling directed University Circle Singers, Zelma George was executive director of the the Center. At far right is Joseph Orichella, a member of the Case Men's Glee Club. June 22, 1970. William Appling, 1932-2008, was a conductor, pianist, and educator. He was choral director for Glenville High School, Case Men's glee Club, West Shore Chorale, and Cleveland Philharmonic Chorus. In 1979 he founded the professional ensemble, William Appling Singers and Orchestra.
