Description

On reverse: Old Market & Town Hall, Georgetown, S.C. Rebuilt in 1842, on the site of the old slave market, the present structure is an exact replica of the old wooden market building destroyed by the Hurricane of 1822. The unusual building has been used as city hall, market, jail, printing shop, and is now the office of the Chamber of Commerce and police department.
