In the interview, Doug Johnson describes the development of his life as a gay man and the relationship with his partner of more than fifty years. He also discusses the relationship with his family and his professional career.Doug Johnson, born in Pierce, Florida in 1927, moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the early 1950s. He attended school in Florida through earning a PhD degree in pharmacology and then began teaching at Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta.
