Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript contains annotations in pencil on the back of the letter with a list of names.Elizur Wright Jr. writes to Amos A. Phelps regarding a prosecution of a postmaster of New York for "refusing to hand over publications." He also writes of Brother Birney going to Ohio to consult with Mr. Weld about "starting the Philanthropist at Cincinnatti." He also writes about a publication from Mr. Jay that addresses the evils of slavery. He writes, "in the next Emancipator we will publish the fury of the South in one immense gust--filling the whole outside form." He also writes about the need for money as the "pledges do no not come in sufficiently to meet our expeditions and we shall probably have to send out a special agent to collect them."
