Historic Images of the SmithsonianThe old negative number is 16378, but that negative has been lost. There are several similar photos at this location. See also #16376, looking north.Work on the foundations of the new National Museum of Natural History on October 17, 1904. On the right workers are filling in a hole with large, flat stones and gravel, and on the left the workers are still working on the hole.
