Holograph.Title supplied by cataloger.These extracts were copied by Samuel May, Jr. from a series of nine original letters between Samuel Joseph May and John Pierpont. The extracts deal with a controversy about a revision of "The American First Class Book" by Pierpont, which did not meet with the approval of Samuel Joseph May and the Garrisonian abolitionists. The extracts are from letters dating from February 13 , 1857 to April 28, [1857].
