Thomas Monroe Campbell (1883-1956) was born on a small farm near the city of Bowman, Georgia. Campbell graduated from Tuskegee University in 1906. Upon his graduation, he was employed by Tuskegee Institute as the operator of the farm demonstration "School on Wheels," (late known as the "Movable School) a demonstration wagon fitted with improved farming techniques.
