Recollections of the life of Pearl Primus, her teaching, and her impact on American modern dance, ethnic dance, African dance, and the study and understanding of African culture. Nash was an African American dancer and dance historian from New York and coordinator of black dance history courses at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center; he was also a long-time collaborator and friend of Primus's.
