Description

Martin Luther King, Jr., also spoke at the gathering. A man in the foreground is holding up a light, probably for a photographer or cameraman. This image was taken for (but not used in) an article ("'Things Are Not Right in This Country'--King" by V. English, B. Wilcox and B. Labaree) and photo spread ("Rallying Support for Poor People's Stay in Washington") that appeared on pages 1 and 3 of The Southern Courier for February 24-25, 1968. The issue is available online (not on the ADAH website): http://www.southerncourier.org/low-res/Vol4_No08_1968_02_24.pdf
