Description

Letter (30 October 1776) from William Ancrum to Marlow Pryor, overseer, regarding a change in planting and the inability of Ancrum to acquire clothing for the slaves. Ancrum mentions that he is inquiring merchants in the West Indies for clothing materials; Ancrum also encourages Pryor to keep the slaves out of the unfavorable weather whenever possible because of the lack of clothing.
