Opisometer of Everett Bratcher

@ Missouri Historical Society

Selsi Company Incorporated

Opisometer of Everett Bratcher. This tool is a good representation of Everett Bratcher's 35 year cartographic career at the Defense Mapping Agency, as well as his 3 years serving as a Tuskegee Airmen with the 332nd fighter group in World War II and his lifetime interest in air and sea navigation. An opisometer, also called a curvimeter, meilograph, or map measurer, is an instrument for measuring the lengths of arbitrary curved lines.
