Description
Recording of a conversation between Harvey Gantt and an unknown interviewer, which may have recorded after a campaign stop. Gantt discuses platform issues such as education, economic stability, and medical care. He critiques Helms's statements that the North Carolina public already know what he stands for, and says that Helms does a disservice to his constiuents by not making it clear what his stances are on issues, by not participating in a public debate, and by not keeping open lines of communication with his constituency. At 10:45, a recording of Gantt giving a speech at TCI Industries begins. Gantt discusses his views on job training programs, early childhood education, higher education, families, and the American Dream. Concludes with a question and answer session. Following the talk at around 33:20, Gantt talks to and answers questions from reporters.
