Description

Account book maintained by Joseph Prince, of Boston, Massachusetts, recording his charges for outfitting ships and transactions related to trade and fishing voyages, from 1746 to 1754. He also contracted men to work on ships, including hiring enslaved people from their owners. Includes some personal accounts, such as payment to Abiah Holbrook for schooling Joseph Prince's daughter, and the amount he charged a boarder who came to live with his family. There are additionally diary entries recording smallpox inoculation, probably of his children, and a brief description of the progression of the disease after they were infected; and a report on the French and Indian War.Joseph Prince Account Book.
