Description

Holograph, signed with initials.George Thompson describes the convention in Union Village; S.S.F. [Stephen Symonds Foster] attacked church organizations and Abby [Kelly Foster] "made a masterly (no mistressly) speech." Thompson received vociferous applause for his replies to a critic. Thompson closes the letter by saying: "Can you put up with these epistles? If you can you shall hear more concerning the rambles of an Incendiary."Includes, accompanying envelope with the delivery address: "Messrs. Goodhue & Co., New York City." With a notation in the lower left corner: "For Miss A. W. Weston."
